Changes in Perceptions of Elderly Sex and Sexuality before and after Lectures by Nursing College Students

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to clarify college students' perceptions of elderly people's sex and sexuality changed before and after lectures. We analyzed the reports of 105 using text mining. As a result, before the lecture, the total number of extracted words used for analysis was 2276, and the number of different words was 414. After the lecture, the total number of extracted words used for analysis was 9608, and the number of different words was 876. In the subgraph, before the lecture, [Image of decreased sexual desire with age] [Decline in sexual interest and decline in sexual function] [Changes in the relationship between men and women] [Image of the elderly as perceived by self-prejudice and values] and [Perception of the elderly by comparison with the younger generation]. After the lecture, [Understanding important sexual desires for the elderly] [Changes in the way the elderly think about sexuality] [The expression of affection by the elderly] [Changes in the psychological aspects of the elderly] [How to live a healthy life for the elderly] [Positioning of motivational lectures] [Understanding of sexuality as a broad concept] [Expansion of students' awareness of sexuality and sexuality of the elderly] [Nursing's perspective on the sexuality of the elderly].Before the lecture, there were many descriptions about the decline of reproductive function due to aging, but after the lecture, we could see that the awareness of the elderly's sexuality and sexuality was spreading, and nursing care based on understanding of the characteristics of the elderly.
