The purpose of this study was to clarify the multidisciplinary collaboration for terminal cancer residents as practiced by medical, nursing, and welfare workers in nursing homes. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with 35 medical, nursing, and welfare workers in nursing homes and analyzed using Krippendorff's content analysis. The results showed that, in order to practice multidisciplinary collaboration for terminal cancer residents in nursing homes, it is necessary to "respect the roles of other professionals" based on "improving one's own knowledge and skills," and to "think together about the effects of multidisciplinary collaboration" using multidisciplinary conferences, etc. Furthermore, it was suggested that "presenting the vision of the organization" would promote collaboration among other professions and lead to high-quality care for terminal cancer residents.
