Abstract

In Section 98 on accidents in the School Management Code、 external head injuriesare the most common cause of death, and there are cases where Yogo teachers have beenat fault. In examination results of fourth-year Yogo Teacher Training College students'knowledge concerning external head injuries, out of 30 questions the average was 15.8 ±4.4, and there was no difference between those in the nursing course and those not in thenursing course. When question types were examined, questions with correct answers within60% were largely those concerning eternal head injury medical knowledge, awarenesslevel and confirmation methods and knowledge, vital sign content, numerical values, andmeasurement methods. In the future it will be essential to improve knowledge and methods.As for the problem concerning pupil responsiveness to light, nursing students correctlyanswered 32.4% correctly and non-nursing students answered 18.3% correctly, whichwas significant, but it was low overall. Since pupil responsiveness to light is a physicalassessment method for examining for emergency internal head injuries, it is essentialfor more serious education concerning this. In the Junior High School New EducationalGuidelines on Physical Education to take effect in 2012, martial arts will be included, andexternal head injuries should be expected to increase with sports like judo.
